Commissioning a Stained Glass Window, a brief overview of how the process works:

  • Initial design consultation is free of charge: we start with the dimensions and talk about what you have in mind for the piece. Once we have discussed the ideas, you will be given a ballpark quote.

  • If you are happy to proceed, we would then finalise design ideas and produce a formal quotation. At this stage you will be required to pay a 50% deposit to confirm the order.

  • Upon receipt of the deposit, a scale sketch of the design will be made and once approved, the full size plans will be drawn up.

  • From this point, lead time is usually 6-12 weeks, depending on the workload. Once the windows are ready they can be delivered to you via courier or you are welcome to collect them from my studio. Fitting of the windows can be arranged if you’re local, or you may prefer to undertake this yourself.

  • Prices for stained glass can vary enormously. As a general rule, you can expect to pay £150-£800 per square foot, depending on the complexity of the design, the type of glass used and the technical process. There is a minimum order fee of £500 for projects larger than a metre. Delivery and/or fitting costs are extra.
